An ApplicationThis is a rare story with more than usual imagery. (Consider rereading in AMP translation.) Jesus was here, riding the red horse, and the horses represented angels. God the Father spoke in ZEC 1:13. Great reminder that while we can make God very angry with our sins, He is ever-loving once we learn our lesson and turn back to Him. The sooner we repent, the better.

Connect the DotsCompare ZEC 1:1, 7 to MT 23:35, and ZEC 1:15 to ISA 10:5-20 and 47:6-10. ZEC 2:5 may help explain why/how Jerusalem survived Alexander the Great without being conquered/destroyed. (Not to diminish the actions of the people at that time, but that's a separate story.) (GNT handles verses 10-14 a little different.)
